Meet Our Team
Our Story
Hampton Physiotherapy was founded in 2022 by Dr. Hope Hampton, a violinist of over 25 years who watched fellow musicians get hurt and handed generic advice from providers who'd never held a bow or practiced four hours a day. That gap became the reason the clinic exists: a place where musicians feel genuinely understood, and where every patient — musician or not — gets careful, thorough, human care.
We've since grown to a small team, and what hasn't changed is the model: every patient gets a full hour with their provider, every time.
Hampton Physiotherapy is Portland's musician-focused physical therapy clinic, led by Dr. Hope Hampton and Dr. Jason Stanley. Board-certified orthopedic specialists offering one-on-one, hour-long sessions rooted in finding the cause of your pain.
We believe patients deserve more. More time. More attention. More answers. And if you're a musician, providers who truly get it.
Meet Dr. Hope Hampton, DPT, CMPT, OCS, CLT
Hope's path toward a career in physical therapy grew directly out of her life as a musician. After years playing violin in string quartets and community orchestras, she saw firsthand how often musicians were overlooked and misunderstood within traditional healthcare — treated with generic protocols that didn't account for the physical demands of playing an instrument. That experience is what led her to build a rehabilitation approach designed specifically for musicians, by a musician. She now works with performers across all ages, abilities, instruments, and genres.
Hope founded Hampton Physiotherapy in 2022 as the sole owner and operator, but welcomes the growth of her team while still maintaining her commitment to quality care: every patient gets a full hour with their provider, every time.

When Hope is not in the clinic, you'll find her trail running, hiking, biking, playing violin, or exploring Portland's restaurant & live music scenes. She also independently study piano, guitar, and voice — because once a musician, always a musician.
Jason specializes in orthopedic physical therapy. He's a graduate of an orthopedic residency program and brings that same root-cause, whole-person approach to every patient he sees.

Our Approach
We don't believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all treatment plans. We take time at the start of our work together to understand not just where you hurt, but why — using detailed biomechanical assessment to find the root cause of your symptoms rather than chasing pain from appointment to appointment.
Your care plan is built around your real life. That means your schedule, your finances, your family demands, your mental health, your other medical conditions, and your goals — whether that's getting back on stage, returning to running, recovering from surgery, or simply being able to pick up your kid without wincing.
We use a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, pain neuroscience education, activity modification, and other evidence-based techniques. We'll also collaborate with your other providers and advocate for you when needed.
“Not only is Hope Hampton super knowledgeable and absolutely relentless in trying to figure out my various conditions and the remedies...but, most importantly, she genuinely cares about the recovery of her clients. I’ve seen lots of medical professionals and I can honestly say no one has put in the effort and care that Hope has.”
A Note on Inclusivity
Hampton Physiotherapy is a space where everyone is welcome. We provide care for patients of all races, ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and faiths — without judgment, without exception. If you've ever felt dismissed or uncomfortable in a healthcare setting, we want this to be different. You will always be treated with respect and dignity here.
